OVERVIEW

JOB PURPOSE:

 

The Marketing Assistant, CPD is responsible for specific marketing activities within the CPD area, including the scheduling of social media posts, the creation of weekly Ontario Reports ads, and the creation of PowerPoint presentations for all CPD programs.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIRED:

  • A minimum of a college diploma or equivalent
  • A mimimum of 1-year marketing related experience or having worked closely with a marketing team
  • Knowledge of best practices in marketing, preferably legal education products
  • Knowledge of X, LinkedIn, and YouTube
  • Organized, with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Knowledge of product mandate and procedures, in particular CPD policies and procedures
  • Good grasp of delivering solid customer service in a confidential environment
  • Speaks and writes in a clear, articulate, persuasive manner
  • Reasons through moderately complex spoken and written information
  • Knowledge of the Law Society, including organizational structure, services, mandate, rules and regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, database applications, e-mail and the Intranet / Internet

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Client Service Delivery

 

  • Schedules posts for LinkedIn and X on a daily basis (minimum one post per day), for building sponsored LinkedIn campaigns as required (based on the information given by the Marketing and Advertising Coordinator and/or the Manager, Marketing and Customer Service), for updating the links that are shared with the speakers, and for sending the weekly social media schedule to the Marketing team.
  • Based on the advertising schedule, inputs the program information from the Program Information Form into the weekly Ontario Report advertisements templates, for liaising with Counsel, CPD and/or the Manager, Marketing and Customer Service to confirm the information, and for sending the approved advertisements to LexisNexis.
  • Based on the advertising schedule, updates the LSO store banners on a weekly basis.
  • Creates PowerPoint presentations using templates for all CPD programs and sends them to the AV team a minimum of 48 hours before each program.
  • Fills out the on-demand form using the information available on the store, for getting it approved by the Manager, Marketing and Customer Service, and shares the approved document with the team for processing.
  • Occasionally pulls reports from the data warehouse as requested by the Marketing Analyst and/or the Manager, Marketing and Customer Service.
  • Occasionally assists the marketing team with offsite visits and program set-up, such as bringing and collecting the marketing materials for an offsite program, picking up printed materials from the printer, as well as assisting the Graphic Designer and E-Course Developer with taking pictures during live programs.
  • Provides assistance to the members of the marketing team as required.

  • Works proactively and closely as a member of the CPD Team to share information and ideas, provide assistance, and contribute to the efficient and timely delivery of services, focusing on the integration of continuous improvements in work processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and commitment to the team in order to maximize resources and support co-workers during peak periods, working both independently and as a member of a dynamic CPD program team.

WORKING ARRANGEMENT

The Law Society has introduced a Distributed Workforce Model to leverage flexibility and agility, and to maximize employee productivity and engagement. Work arrangements will be determined by role and departmental requirements. The working arrangement for this position has been classified as hybrid, where the employee will regularly flex their work location between home and office.
