JOB PURPOSE:

 

There is an opportunity to article with the Law Society in 2025-2026 to support the Policy, Equity and External Relations division. 

 

The student will assist the Director and Strategic Policy Counsel in the development of programs and policy options, including performing research, writing research reports, drafting model policies for the legal profession and attending meetings with lawyers and benchers of the Law Society of Ontario.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Applicants must be registered in the Lawyer Licensing Process with the Law Society of Ontario. 
  • Knowledge of legal research databases and Microsoft Office suite is an asset.
  • Proficiency in oral and written French is an asset.

 

The start date for the position is somewhat flexible, but will begin no later than August 11, 2025 for a 10-month contract or September 2, 2025 for 9-month contract.

WORKING ARRANGEMENT

The Law Society has introduced a Distributed Workforce Model to leverage flexibility and agility, and to maximize employee productivity and engagement.  Work arrangements will be determined by role and departmental requirements.  The working arrangement for this position has been classified as hybrid, where the employee will regularly flex their work location between home and office.  The specific application of this will be communicated to applicants contacted during the recruitment process.
